The Daily Commonwealth, Covington, Ky., Friday, March 19, 1880, vol. II, no. 253, p. 1 col. 3 (sub 'The Late Henry Timberlake'):
The announcement yesterday of the death in Newport of Mr. Henry Timberlake was received with surprise as well as deep regret by his many friends. He had been ill for some time, but a fatal termination was not anticipated. In fact the family had arranged to move to Covington when Mr. Timberlake, who was ill, was taken suddenly worse and could not be removed. He was a native of Kenton county, and was forty-nine years of age at his death. He was married at the age of twenty-two to Miss Susan Tibbatts. The deceased was a man of fine natural endowments, well cultivated, was enrolled among the members of the bar of Covington and Newport, but was better known in the tobacco trade. His gentle manners and genial disposition captured all with whom he came in contact.
