KILLED IN YARDS
George W. Connely Meets Tragic Death at Work on the Katy.
"George W. Connely, aged sixty-one years, an employee of the car department of the M, K. & T. Ry., and residing at 1414 Stevens avenue, was killed about 10 o'clock last night while at his work in the north yards. He was accidentally crushed between the cars in some manner while about his duties and so badly injured that he died a few moments after the accident.
The body was brought to the undertaking parlors of Ellis & Martin and funeral services will be held from the First Methodist church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. R. E. Maclean and interment at Oakwood cemetery.
Mr. Connely is survived by his wife, seven sons and one daughter, most of whom will be present at the funeral.
Mr. Connelly lived in Parsons only for the past year, moving from a farm nine miles northeast of the city where he had resided for the past seventeen years. He was highly esteemed by all who knew him devoted to his home and family, and prominent in Christian work and at one time was a minister in the Methodist church."
