August J. Bliese, 82, died at 7:15 a. m. yesterday at his home, 215 Ankeny Street, of complications due to advanced age.

He was born on Jan 16, 1868, at Cedarburg, Wis., the son of Carl and Marcia Bliese. He came to Waterloo 65 years ago and had worked as a laborer here.

Mr. Bliese married Caroline Kolm in Waterloo on Apr. 24, 1912. His wife died on Aug. 28, 1944, in Waterloo.

Surviving are one son, John of Ames, Ia.; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne Alfers of Floyd, Ia.l and four grandchildren. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 130 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Rev. W. D. Oetting, pastor. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The body will be removed to the church from the parrott & Wood Funeral Home Monday.
