Martin V. Beck was the youngest son of Col. Samuel Beck and Tabitha Langston Beck. He was the brother of Capt. Samuel M. Beck, Co.F, 52nd. Ga. Infantry. Martin enlisted in this unit on March 3, 1862. He was wounded in the abdomen and permanently disabled at Resaca, Ga. on May 16, 1864. According to his pension records, he was at home on wounded furlough at the end of the war.
