Jeanette Shumate Smallwood, 64, of Vinton, passed away suddenly, Saturday, January 20, 1996 at home. She was preceded in death by her father, Burrell Shumate and is survived by her husband, Sherman Montel Smallwood; her mother, Mary Thelma Shumate; several aunts; one uncle; and several cousins. Mrs. Smallwood was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church and a Past Matron of Vinton Chapter #136, Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 1996 with Dr. Joe R. Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Vinton Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday where there will be an O.E.S. Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m
