In 1943, in New Guinea as a sergeant he was awarded the Military Medal. He was appointed lieutenant in January 1944 and was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross with the 2/2nd Australian Infantry Battalion in New Guinea for gallantry on 25 March 1945. | Added by: Anthony Staunton 2/16/2013 | | |
