THOMAS JEFFERSON died May first at 8:25o'clock in the am. (Linda #47343179 reports a news article indicates he died of lung fever now known as pneumonia.)
The deceased was born in Nicholas County Kentucky in 1833. He went with his parents to Boone County Indiana where he remained until he was twenty-four years of age. He was married December 28, 1857 to Patsy M Powell.
He was the father of nine children; two of whom died in infancy, seven still surviving him and grandfather to thirteen children, eleven living.
At the age of twenty he united with the Christian Church living a faithful member of that church until he removed to Cairo Hall County Nebraska February 1883 where he united with the United Brethren Church, living a faithful member and devoted Christian until death. Mr Bowen came to Sherman County with his family in the fall of 1890.
