Paul claimed he was born in Taxihari,Turkey. Im not sure where it is located. The Turks renamed alot of the cities in Turkey after they ran the Greeks out. Katina claimed she was born in Kessaria which I believe is Kayseri. Paul immigrated to the USA July 1, 1912 arriving on the S. S. Martha Washington. He lived in New York city for about 10 years. He was the first family member to come here from Turkey that I know of. On his WW1 draft card in 1917 he claimed he was sole support for his mother and father who were sick in west Turkey,I believe they both died by 1921 before my grandmother came here. Paul moved to Winston-Salem after Cosmos got released from the Army c1920 and they started a resturant called the Princess Cafe there in Winston. He owned and worked at several resturants there. About 1952 Paul bought a home next to the Mount Carmel Church and became a member. He donated his house and land to the church when he died. The church moved his house when they made the ball field. They use it now for a rest area and storage. Paul kept to hisself mostly. He loved to work in his garden. He never married and had no children. For an explanation of fathers name see Sophia Abraham.
