Greenbush - Gordon H. "Corky" Anderson, 65, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Friday, June 18, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 23) at Abundant Life Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend Wesley Langaas officiating. Bev Kays will be the organist, and Lois Anderson and Lois Peterson will present at duet. Casketbearers will be D. Anderson, B. Dokken, D. Anderson, T. Hanson, J. Roisland, G. Anderson and D. Johnston. Burial will be in Spruce Valley Cemetery in Spruce Valley township of Marshall county.

Visitation was held from 3 to 8 with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, June 22 at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church today.

Gordon Herbert Anderson was born on May 26, 1934 in Spruce Valley township of Marshall county, the son of Frank William and Harriet Elizabeth (Von Wald) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Middle River and also attended Middle River School, graduating in 1952.

Gordy entered the United States Air Force and spent five and one-half years in Germany.

He married Johanna LaGrande in Amsterdam, Holland, and following his military discharge, the couple returned to Middle River. After working for Montgomery Ward in Thief River Falls for one year, Gordy began his employment with Thief River Jobbing. He retired after 42 years.

On December 26, 1973 he was united in marriage to Frances Waskaski at Erskine, and the couple made their home in Thief River Falls. Recently, they moved from Thief River Falls to rural Greenbush where Gordy could enjoy four wheeling, deer hunting, fishing, goose hunting, nature watching and especially being with his family.

He was a member of Abundant Life Church, the American Legion, VFW, Eagle's, Thief River Falls Archery Club and Trap Club.

Gordy is survived by his wife; one daughter, F. (E.) Lee of Thief River Falls; two sons, T. (W.) Lefrooth of Inver Grove Heights and G. (E.) Lefrooth of Strandquist; his mother, Harriet Anderson; one sister, E. (G.) Moen of Newfolden; seven brothers, E. (J.) of Stephen, W. of Strathcona, J. (A.) of Custer, SD, R. of St. Paul, R. (S.) of Davidsonville, MD, L. of Atlanta, GA and B. (B.) of Palm Bay, FL; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1992 and one sister-in-law, Baryth Anderson.
