John Will Powell , age 75 of 235 Mockerson Road Leoma passed away December 5, 1995 at Southern Hills Hospital. He was a native of Dothan, Alabama and the son of the late Willie M and Alice Merritt Powell. He was a retired Master Sergeant U.S. Army and veteran of the Second World war and the Korean Conflict. He also was a retiree from the Civil Service. Mr Powell was a member of the Piney Grove Methodist Church in Dothan , Alabama and also a member of the Elks Club.
He is survived by his wife Elisabeth Powell of Leoma, two daughters Nancy Miller of Leoma and Barbara Johnson of Dothan, Alabama. Five Grandchildren; five great grandchildren: sister Mildred Tyson and Brother Tullie Powell both of Dothan, Al; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Burial was in the Union Hill Cemetery near Five points Tennessee. Full military honors were rendered by a unit of the 101st Airborne Division, Ft Campbell, Ky. Officiating Clergyman John Anderson.
