Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Lois N. Kendrick, died of causes incident to age Nov. 30, 2011, at Emeritus Estates with her family by her side. She was born July 2, 1922, in Nibley, Utah, the daughter of Hyrum and Beth McBride Nelson. She learned important life values, including the value of hard work, having been raised on the family farm.
Lois married LaVon Kendrick in Brigham City, Utah, on May 12, 1938, later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
Lois was a member of the North Ogden LDS 9th Ward. She always was very devoted in her church service and served in many callings including Relief Society president in the Brigham City 8th Ward. Following LaVon's death, she served a family history mission in San Diego, Calif.
Lois retired from IRS. She enjoyed crocheting and traveling and she loved serving in the temples. Her highest priority in life was her family.
She is survived by her children, Cordell (Marilyn) of Boise, Idaho, Pat Kendrick of Harrisville, Bruce (Gloria) of North Ogden, Clyde (Janette) of Santa Clara, Calif., and Brenda (Keith) Ashdown of North Ogden; as well as 17 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Earl (Colleen) Nelson and Jay (Vellys) Nelson; and one sister-in-law, Lucille Nelson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and six siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, and from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. Monday. Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Emeritus - too many favorites to name - and Intermountain Hospice, especially Heidi and Camille.
