Hampton Thomson, 84, Wright City, died Thursday in his home.
Funeral services are set for today at 2 p.m. in the Hampton Chapel, with the Rev. Stephan Billy, assisted by the Revs. Joel Aron and Jessie Lewis, officiating. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery in Choctaw County, under the direction of Coffey-Leonard Funeral Home.
Born Nov. 12, 1901 in Spencerville, he was a member of the Hampton Chapel Methodist Church. He moved to Wright City in 1940 from Spencerville. He and Narcissa James were married Oct. 27, 1923 in Corrine. He was a fullblood Choctaw, a retired Weyerhaeuser employee, and he donated the land for the Hampton Chapel and Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Narcissa of the home; one son, Robert H. Thomson. also of Wright City; two sisters, Francis James of Fort Towson and Emma Davis of Valliant; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
