John T. Ahearn, 92, formerly of 2214 Patterson st., died Saturday night in Alexian Brothers hospital, Oshkosh, Wis., following an extended illness. Mr. Ahearn was born in Madisonville, Ky., son of the late John and Mary Ahearn. He came to Nashville as a boy and was educated at the old St. Mary’s school. He was married in 1886 to the former Miss Julia Hardiman, who survives. For many years Mr. Ahearn was connected with the N.C. & St. L. railway and at one time served as superintendent of the Nashville waterworks department. He was a communicant of the Cathedral of the Incarnation.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by three sons, Lawrence J. Ahearn, Jackson, Miss., Raymond E. Ahearn, Chicago, Ill., and Vincent D. Ahearn of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Sr. Mary John Ahearn of St. Bernard’s academy, Nashville; and a sister, Mrs. T. S. Wilcox Sr., of Chattanooga.
