Mrs. Marjory L. Pittman Bishop, age 79, of Silver Creek, Ga., passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011.
Marjory Bishop was born on October 6, 1932 in Sinclair County, Al., to her parents, the late Albert Pittman and the late Teely Dempsey Pittman. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Bishop, three brothers, Clyde Pittman, John Pittman and James Pittman, her sister, Mary McCurry and a infant sister, Catherine Pittman.
She retired from the Atlanta Journal and Constitution after thirty plus years of loyal and dedicated service. For more than twenty of those years she was the District Manager of Polk and Haralson Counties. She was of the Baptist faith and had been attending the Wax Baptist Church.
Marjory was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother and is survived by her son; Joe Bishop, her daughter and son in law; Susan & James Vines, her daughter in law; Sandra Bishop, her brothers and sisters in law; Rufus & Betty Pittman, Lewis & Linda Pittman, her sister in law,; Shirley Bishop, her grandchildren; Brandon George, Josh Bishop, Ashlan Bishop and Joseph Bishop. A number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside and Interment services for Mrs. Marjory Pittman Bishop will be conducted on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Floyd Memory Gardens in Rome, Ga., with the Rev. Billy Vines officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Litesey Funeral Home.
The following Gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: Brandon George, Jeremy Casey, Eddie Pittman, Howard Pittman, Andrew Pittman and Chuck Pittman.
