Erasmus Boll Chilton Times June 16, 1888

Sunday morning last, word was received in this city that Erasmus Boll, of East Brothertown was dead. The news was so unexpected that at first it was giving but little credence, but it proved to be true. Mr. Boll was taken ill on Friday with inflammation of the bowels and after suffering greatly, was at last relieved from pain by death which occurred on Sunday morning.
Erasmus Boll was born in Bavaria, came to this country at the age of 9 years and settled in the town of Russell, Sheboygan County, where he worked hard and faithfully until the call for troops to put down the rebellion, when he enlisted in Co. H of the 26th Regiment. He served three years for his adopted country, and was wounded in the battle of Chancellorville. After receiving his discharge he returned home, and shortly after came to the town of Brothertown where he purchased a farm and by his industry and ability has amassed a nice property.
He was married shortly after coming to Brothertown and leaves a wife and nine children. He was a man who was held in high esteem by his neighbors and friends, a true and loving husband and father. The funeral took place on Tuesday, the remains being laid away in the Catholic Cemetery at Charlesburg.(sic).
