US Congressman. He was elected to represent Tennessee's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1875 to 1877. In later years, he was the mayor of Morristown, Tennessee. Originally interred in Morristown City Cemetery, his and his wife's remains were later removed to Morristown's Jarnagin Cemetery, but for as yet unknown reason her original marker remained in the City Cemetery.
