Gary Moore 1936-1952
A heavey gloom fell over Comanche as news that Gary Moore was dead. He was working-out with the baseball team at the ball park when he got hit. It had been his turn to bat . He got a hit and went to first. Then he tried for second. The ball was thrown in; he tried to make the base and the other player threw the ball. It hit Gary in the chest. He clutched his chest and someone asked if he was hurt. He said, "no", stumbled a step or two and fell, probably dead by the time he hit the ground. A doctor was summoned. Dr Ira T Bond worked feverishly over him for thirty minutes. Then he was taken by Coach Frank Hodnik to the Boydston Funeral Home to use the pulmotor, but it was no use.

Gary Eldon Moore was born in Duncan January 22,1936 to Mr amd Mrs Charlie Moore, the fourth child.
He started to school at Fairview which he attended until it consolidated with Comanche in 1947. He was a sophomore in high school. He played football and baseball.

Funeral services were held in the high school auditorium, with Rev Charles Wood, Minister of Fairview Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Boydstun Funeral Home.

Survivors are his parents, a brother, Raymond and sisters Mrs Hazel Gregston, Hobart and Mrs Emma Edwards, Casper, WY.
