Edward W. McNicol, 85, of Springfield, died Monday morning, March 25, 1996, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born January 27, 1911, in Urbana, Ohio, the son of Ernest and Jessie (Mullinex) McNicol.
Mr. McNicol was a member of First Lutheran Church E.L.C.A., H. S. Kissell Lodge 674 Free and Accepted Masons, Shawnee Chapter 237 Royal Arch Masons, Springfield Council 17 Royal and Select Masons, and Palestine Commandery 33 Knights Templar.
He retired from Borden Dairy, was a former member and served as Past President of Springfield Kiwanis Club, and taught adult Sunday School at the Ohio Masonic Home for twenty-five years.
Survivors include his wife, Ethelwyn A. (Williams); two sons and one daughter-in-law, William and Karen McNicol, of Grove City, Ohio, and Thomas A. McNicol, of Springfield; one sister, Mary Louise Mutchler, of Fort Thomas, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Robert E. McNicol, Amy and her husband, Craig Dieckhoner, and Susanne McNicol.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor David E. Imhoff officiating. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
