Infant daughter of Charles L. and Fannie S. Roderick. She succumbed to what was probably SIDS. My grandfather would always kiss his little girl goodbye when he would leave for work each morning. However, on the morning of December 29, 1917, he leaned down into her crib to kiss her as always, only to discover she was cold. She had passed away during the night. She had not been sick nor had she seemed ill or different in any way. It was well below zero on the day she was buried. Her small casket had to be taken to Oak Grove on a sled. No photographs of Mary Jeneve were ever taken, although she has been described as blond and blue-eyed.

My grandmother never got over the death of her first-born. She mourned for her daughter until she was buried next to her 55 years later.
