Norma Jean Downen, 75, of Caldwell, died Monday, November 7, 2011 at home. Norma was born on March 8, 1936, a daughter of Floyd and Laura Hall Jordan.
Norma was raised and educated in Oklahoma and Idaho. She worked for many years for the Caldwell School District as a cook.
Norma married Donald E. Downen on March 7, 1970 at Sun Valley, Idaho. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, needlework and she was a member of a stitchery club.
She is survived by seven children; Jackie Downen, Rebecca (Scott) Catlett, Mike (Melissa) Clugston, Randy Clugston, Alleen (Joseph) Winslow, Evelyn (Rich) Yoder and Glenna (Ken) Smith, seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and one brother.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Flahiff Chapel on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Canyon Hill Cemetery.
