COLLINSVILLE, Okla. — Christina Maria (Martinez) Young, 55, of Collinsville, Okla., a former Parsons resident, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. She had been critically ill the past two weeks.

She was born on June 30, 1956, in Parsons to Richard and Phyllis (Curtis) Martinez. She graduated from Parsons High School in 1974 and attended Labette Community College.

For the past 17 years, she had worked as director of human resources for Grand Lake Mental Health Center Inc. Earlier, she managed the gift shop at Phillips Hotel in Bartlesville.

She married Mike Montgomery. They later divorced.

She married Stephen Young on Dec. 28, 2000, in Tulsa. He survives of the home.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She belonged to several service organizations.

Other survivors include two sons, Taylor Montgomery and Reece Montgomery, both of Claremore, Okla.; two grandchildren, Michael Kash Montgomery and Nataleigh Montgomery; her father, Richard Martinez of Parsons; her mother and stepfather, Phyllis and Len Trokey of Parsons; two brothers, John Martinez and his wife, Shannon, and Rick Martinez and his wife, Toni, all of Parsons; two sisters, Yolanda Martinez of Parsons and Teresa "Teri" Martinez of Fort Worth, Texas; nieces and nephews, Travis Martinez and his wife, Tara, of Olathe, Brynn Martinez of Tampa, Fla., Linsey Cleaveland, Darcie Wall and her husband, Ned, Johnna Martinez, Trey Martinez and Emma Martinez, all of Parsons, Amy Harris of Fort Worth, Texas, Laura McDonald and Meagan McDonald, both of California, Jenny Price of Springfield, Mo., and David Price of Wagoner, Okla.; several great-nieces and great-nephews; her father-in-law, Steve Young of Bixby, Okla.; her mother-in-law, DeeAnn White of Haskell, Okla.; two sisters-in-law, Kate Price of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Crystal Young of Tulsa; and a grandmother-in-law, Ruby Louise Knight of Tulsa.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. today, and the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Kansas City and may be left at or sent to the funeral home at Box 942, Parsons, 67357.
