Gary Allen "Pops" Wakefield, 77, of Sarasota, formerly of Albuquerque, N.M. died Aug. 22, 2011.
Services will be held with military honors at 11am Thurs in Sarasota National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be 12:30pm at the Sandy Baptist Church, Myakka City. Arrangements by Toale Brothers Funeral Homes.
Survivors include his daughters, Natasha of Shepardstown, W. Va., Anita Johnson of Bradenton; sons, Allen of Port Orange, Fla., Frank of Sarasota; former wife, Jane Langford; and eight grandchildren, Roy, Logan, Breanna, Joseph, Emily, Julie, Sophie and Brian and by his great-grandchild, Levi.
