Lela M. Benson,Dies At Home Near Winchester.

Mrs. Lela Mae Benson,46 years old,passed away at her home one and one-half miles east of Winchester Wed. at 1:10 a.m. following an illness of three years duration. She had been seriously ill for the past ten days.

She was born Feb. 19,1899 in Randolph county the daughter of William and Minnie (Hainer)Coddington and on Feb. 19,1916 was married to Forest Benson.

Surviving are three sons,Richard Benson of Winchester,and Ralph and James at home;four daughters,Mrs. Samuel Blocher of Greenville,O., and Mary,Barbara and Patricia,all at home;a brother,Everett Coddington of Winchester;two grandchildren. A sister,Bessie Marie Harris, preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Benson will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Fri. at the White River Friends church,of which she was a member,with Rev. George Addington and Rev. Elvin Thornburg officiating. Interment will be in the Fountain Park cemetery.

The body will be returned to the residence from the Maynard and Walker mortuary where friends may call after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
