Retha M. Capen
Retha May Capen, 86, of Greenfield, formerly of Brady Township, Mich., died Nov. 16, 2004 at Brandywine Health Care in Greenfield.
Born Oct. 28, 1918 in Saginaw County, Mich., she was the daughter of Edward and Mary (Cunningham) Spiegel.
She had been employed as a dietary assistant with Owosso Memorial Healthcare for many years. She attended Chapin United Methodist Church, was a 50-year member of Elsie Eastern Star and enjoyed crafting.
Survivors include her son Ronald Capen of Greenfield; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death in August 1986 by her husband Stanley Capen, whom she married Dec. 5, 1936; one brother; and two sisters.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Smith Family Funeral Homes in Elsie Mich. with Pastor Billie Lou Gillespie-Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Ridge Road Cemetery in Brady Township, Mich.
