KINGSFORD - Nancy C. (LaPlante) Dighera, 74, of Kingsford, passed away on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Mayo Clinic's St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Nancy was born March 1, 1937, in Ishpeming, daughter of the late Raymond and Lena (Seppi) LaPlante.
Nancy married Allan Dighera on Aug. 31, 1963, in North Lake, Mich. She has resided in Kingsford since 1984 and was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Nancy enjoyed sewing, cooking, doing arts and crafts, socializing and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Allan; two sons, Anthony (Debbie) Dighera of Perris, Calif. and Dominick Dighera of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; a grandson, Antonin Dighera of Perris; a brother, William (Jean) LaPlante of Escanaba; a brother-in-law, Elroy Backman of Sebring, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorraine Cudahy and Charlotte Backman and a brother, Ralph LaPlante.
Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery.
