DEATH CLAIMS OTTO REUTHER
Retired Manitowoc Accountant Taken; Rites Monday
Stricken suddenly ill Thursday morning at the home, 830 Lincoln boulevard, at Manitowoc, retired accountant and a resident of that city for over 40 years, died last night at the Holy Family hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. from the Masonic Temple with interment in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Reuther was born in Centerville in 1871 and spent his boyhood in the village of Brillion. When a young man he became a bookkeeper and accountant and was employed in the first bank opened in Brillion. He also served as assistant postmaster in the village.
He came to Manitowoc in 1900 and entered the employ of the Rahr Malting company with whom he was employed until 1936, holding the position of chief accountant with that firm. When he retired to private life he ended 40 years of continuous employment for that firm.
Mr. Reuther was active in Masonic circles there, being a member of the Manitowoc lodge No. 65, F. and A.M., and the Eastern Star, and a trustee of both organizations.
He is survived by his wife, the former Gladys Frick of Manitowoc; brother, Emil of Manitowoc; and two sisters, Mrs. Dale Andrews, Sr., of Brillion and Miss Sara Reuther of Manitowoc.
