|Oldest Cemetery in Rapides Parish, built upon the high bank of the Red River for protection from annual flooding which occurred prior to the levees being constructed. It is located in Pineville, LA and can be seen, on your left, as you cross the Jackson Street bridge from Alexandria into Pineville. It is my understanding the cemetery is now owned by the City of Pineville. It was vandalized about a year ago with many tombstones being overturned and/or broken. If you have family here you might want to check their site(s) for any damage that needs to be repaired.|
