Mr. Benn was In his 78th year, and was a son of the late Israel P. and Jane Bishop Benn, being born at Hagaman, Nov. 18, 1849. He was for many years connected with, the textile industry of this city, and for over 30 years was foreman in the setting room of the carpet plant of S. Sanford & Sons of Amsterdam, but had been living a retired life for a number of years.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Thomas J. Carlon of Monticello, N.J., and Mrs. Wilson Delamater of Ballston Lake; and a nephew, Arthur Benn, of this city, and a niece, Mrs. Sherman DeForest, of Sacandaga. The remains were brought to Amsterdam and taken to the undertaking rooms of Merriam & Waterstreet.
