Cape Coral Daily Breeze-Cape Coral ,Fl. Evelyn Natalie Fletcher,98,passed away Saturday,Aug.14,2010.She was born April 7,1912,in Nita Yuma,Miss.,to James Roscoe Low and Elizabeth Chambers Low.She was a long-time resident of Hattiesburg,Miss.,and Cape Coral.She was a true "Southern Belle" and a lifelong servant of the Lord through the Holy Catholic Church. She was an avid exerciser,teaching classes for years at the YMCA.She spent many wonderful years traveling on their boat with her husband,Robert,and beloved companions,her dogs Pierre,Sam andSammy. The words have not been invented to fully describe the depth of her character.She selflessly devoted her time and resources to countless charities and community organizations.She played the organ in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hattiesburg,Miss.,for over 40 years.She never met a stranger and was lovingly known as "Mammy" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her grandchildren,Melanie Polk(Richard),Robert Polk(Lisa),Michelle Warren(Bruce),James Polk(Belinda),Scott Polk(Diane)Natlie Williams(Zach),Tiffany Spencer,Sharon Hogg,Brad Fletcher(Liz),Ed Fletcher(Wendy)and Alison Ott(Jay);daughter-in-law,Glenda Fletcher;23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents,she was predeceased by her husband Robert P. Fletcher,daughter,Evelyn;son,Robert Fletcher;and brother,James Roscoe Jr.,George,Adolphus,Fletcher and Billy.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon,today Aug.17,in St. Paul's Catholic Church with the Rev.Jose Kallukalam as celebrant.
