Margaret Hobby "Peggy" Drenckhahn died peacefully at Greenwich Hospital on October 23, 2011 after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 27, 1936 in Greenwich to the late Frederick L. and Margaret DeLeo Hobby. Peggy was a graduate of Greenwich High School. She was self employed in the family business.

Peggy is survived by her husband of fifty-four years Robert C. Drenckhahn, four sons Robert C. Jr., David W., Alan J., and Craig E. Drenckhahn, daughter-in-law Sheila Keeshan, her siblings, Sally Hobby Owen, Frederick L. Hobby, Jr., Josephine Hobby Koellmer, Gerald J. Hobby, and Margaret Koellmer, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother William H. Hobby.

Peggy was an avid gardener, enjoyed swimming, loved animals, and she was a devoted wife and mother. Peggy is a decedent of the Hobby family, the founders of Greenwich.

Family and friends may call at the Castiglione Funeral Home, Inc., 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich, on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich.
