Educator and Superintendent of Dallas schools (1940-1945). His parents were Benjamin Franklin Dorsey and Mary Dulaney. He married Eula E. Sewell, daughter of Dr. Thomas W. and Mollie Sewell, in 1901 and Myrtle Meers, daughter of Elisha Conway Meers and Dora Elizabeth Churchill, in 1923.

"Professor Julius Dorsey of Kerens and Miss Eula E. Sewell of Blooming Grove [Navarro Co] were married in this city [Corsicana, TX] last night." (Source: Dallas Morning News, Sept. 12, 1901)

"Julius Dorsey was born July 17, 1876, in New Albany, Miss. He graduated from high school in 1896 in Kaufman, Texas, and attended George Peabody College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (1916) and a Master of Arts (1920). His emphasis on educational administration was child centered, and he gave lively support to the less rigorous subjects as art, music, libraries, and homemaking. Dorsey served as superintendent of the Dallas Independent School District for five years, retiring in August of 1945."
