John R. Rampton

John R. Rampton, 72, died at the family residence at Bountiful Monday, after a short illness.

Mr. Rampton was born in Bountiful, May 16, 1872, a son of Henry and Ada McDuff Rampton. He spent his entire life in Bountiful and had taken an active part in religious and educational life of the community. He had served in various capacities in ward and stake leadership and had been a member of the Davis county school board for over 20 years, serving as president for the past several years.

He married Zoe Carney in the L. D. S. temple in Salt Lake City. She died in 1915. He later married Freda Hansen.

Surviving besides his widow are the following sons and daughters: Ralph Rampton, Layton; Mrs. Ruth Duce, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Wilma Hughes, Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Maxine Pansic, Culver City, Calif.; John Rampton, U. S. armed forces; and Mrs. Lucille Parry, Bountiful: also the following brothers and sisters: George A. Rampton, Syracuse; Thomas Rampton, Garland; Malcolm M. Rampton, Ogden; Walter Rampton, Farmington; Arthur Rampton, Mrs. Sara Holbrook, and Mrs. Katharine Pace, Bountiful, and Mrs. Lizzie Barlow, Burley, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held Friday in the L. D. S. Bountiful First ward chapel at two p. m.
