Cora Lee Widdifield Ogden, 78, of Buena Vista, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Augusta Health Center in Fishersville, Va.

She was born on June 1, 1933, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Herbert P. Widdifield Sr. and Nellie Bradner Widdifield.

Mrs. Ogden was retired from Shenandoah Nursing Home where she was a CNA.

Surviving are one son, David Ogden and wife, Jacqueline, of Lexington; two daughters, Shelia Ogden Sorrells and husband, Galen, of Front Royal, and Susan Ogden Smiley and husband, Scott, of Lexington; three brothers, Herbert P. Widdifield Jr., Charlie Widdifield, and John Widdifield; two sisters, Nyoka Mays and Martha Fitzgerald; and five grandchildren, Erik D. Sorrells, Rheannon N. Sorrells, Ashley N. Clark, Alexandra E. Smiley, and Emily Jo. Funeral

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dean Staton officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and other times at the home of Susan Smiley, 335 Wheatlan Drive, Lexington, VA 24450 after the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018.
