EPPLEY - Amos Russell Sr., 78, Johnstown, died Oct. 10, 2011, at his residence. Born Dec. 25, 1932, in Las Animas, Colo., son of Howard B. and Katherine V. (Horner) Eppley. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Olive Marsh. Survived by wife of 54 years, Dorothy (Lepley); children, Amos Jr., and wife, Linda, Sunnyvale, Calif.; and Pamela Reed, Johnstown; grandchildren, Desirae Reed, and husband, Rick Gutshall Burkey, Central City; and Frank Reed, Johnstown; and brother-in-law, William Marsh, Pittsburgh; also numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Davidsville Community Church, where he was head usher and trustee. A 1951 graduate of Forbes High School. After 33 years of service at Bethlehem Steel, Wheel Plant, he was employed by Gary Frazier Construction and Fisher Auto Parts. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Davidsville Community Church, the Rev. Ronald Carnevali Sr. Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Davidsville Community Church, 197 Pender Road, Johnstown, Pa. 15905.
