Obituary - Harold Heber Ashworth, 68, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away February 17, 2006 at his home in St. George, after fighting a valiant battle with a rare form of cancer.

Harold was born February 17, 1938 in Beaver, Utah to Heber Harvey and Icevinda Ward Ashworth. He grew up in Beaver and graduated from Beaver High School. He married Shirley Ayers July 19, 1963 in Tooele, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in August 1967. Their union was blessed with four sons.

Harold was very talented craftsman. He worked construction and at the Tooele Army Depot. He retired in 1993 and he and Shirley then moved to St. George. He has worked at Metcalf Mortuary for the last 12 years. The staff at Metcalf's are truly his extended family.

Harold is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loves the mountains and the beauty of the earth. To know him is to love him. He is a simple man who loved his family and did the best he could at all times. He will be greatly missed by his family who love him beyond measure.

Harold is survived by his wife; and children, Harold (Carolee) of Tooele, UT, Shawn of Ivins, UT, Bob (Janet) of Kanarraville, UT, Mark of St. George, UT; grandchildren, Peter (Brittany), Jamie (Brandon), Stephanie, Ryan, Quirt, Amie Jo, Shawn, Dustin; great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Alexander, Tysen and Selene; sisters, Virginia Jones of Ivins, UT, Helen (Donald) Stewart of Tooele, UT; mother-in-law, Melva Lee; brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws; numerous loved nieces and nephews. He went to celebrate his birthday with his parents; and his brothers, Howard, Albert, and Frank. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Jane Manalo, John and Sheila, and Hospice nurse, Bob Groke, for their love and tender care of Harold throughout his cancer.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2006, 11 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd, St. George, UT. A visitation will be held Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. both at the mortuary. Graveside services will be Tuesday, 3 p.m., at the Beaver City Cemetery, Beaver, UT.
