Edgar Lee Johnson, son of John and Almeda Johnson, died October 10, 1964 of a heart attack at Iowa City University Hospital at the age 46 years, 4 months, and 7 days.
Preceding him in death were his father and mother of Summersville, Missouri, and one brother Joseph Gurn Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie Pauline Johnson, of Des Moines, Iowa, six children and five grandchildren: Denver Roy Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Clement Johnson, Michael David Johnson, Mrs. Sharon Walker, and Wanda Johnson, all of Des Moines, Iowa.
Also surviving him is two brothers, James Johnson of Hartshorn, Missouri and Marshall Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa. Six sisters; Velma Harris, of Dallas Center, Iowa, Bertha Williams of Adel, Iowa, Elva Williams of Des Moines, Iowa, Beulah Naney of Escalon, California, Myrtle Anderson of Cabool, Missouri, and Mattie Ireland of Cabool, Missouri.
He was converted in 1934 at Summersville, Missouri. He lived in Des Moines, Iowa from 1950 until his death.
Funeral and burial was in the Bethel Cemetery under the direction of the Summersville Funeral Home.
