A STRANGE TALE INDEED

There is a nice granite gravestone for Basil and his wife at Adams cemetery, however, neither of them are buried at Adams cemetery. Basil is buried at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Hopkins County, Kentucky. Supposedly, an exact duplicate of the gravestone at Adams cemetery also marks Basil's grave at Oddfellows Cemetery.

Basil and his wife lived in Parke County, Indiana. Doing research on Basil I found out that his ancestors came from the Carolinas before Hopkins County, Kentucky and before that they came from England, thus, his line is not related to mine. However, alot of my Adams line did live in Hopkins County, Kentucky. He apparently knew my ancestors as Adams cemetery is a "family" cemetery. Since I do research on everyone buried at Adams cemetery I have added him to my tree. His full name is Basil Boring Adams, however, he has been recorded as Basil Boswell Adams on some documentation. He was married at least twice, his first wife was Emma Newton Holland born 1863 in Graves County, Kentucky. They were married 10 Oct 1894. They had at least one child, a daughter Frances Newton Adams born 5 Mar 1896 in Paducah, McCraken, Kentucky.

Note: This may have been a son. At this time I do not know the maiden name of Theresa. It could be she is related to my lineage. Basil's father is Coleman Carlisle Adams born 28 Nov 1842 in Kentucky. His father was Jesse Adams. Basil's mother is Sarah Ellen Moore born Oct 1845 in Kentucky. Before Kentucky, Basil's family came from Virginia and South Carolina. The family originated from England.
