BIRTH AND PARENTS
Mary Ann Bishop was born on February 6, 1842, according to the inscription on her gravestone, in Indiana. After marriage, and during Censuses 1900 and 1910, she reported that she and her parents were born in Indiana. Nelson Bishop and Tempy Wright were born in Indiana. During the Census 1900 her brother, John Joseph Bishop, reported that he was Uncle of the children in the Bishop-Baggs household.
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY AND OCCUPATION
She married Caleb Baggs on April 14, 1861, in Clark, Missouri. Her name on her marriage record was Mary Ann Bishop. Documents showed that Mary Ann Bishop and Caleb Baggs had six children. She reported that she was "keeping house" during Census 1880. Census 1890 was not found due to a fire that burnt the Kansas documents. The Obituary of Tempy Wright reported that Mary Ann and Tempy Wright lived in the same location -- Sumner, Kansas -- in 1884.
DEATH
Mary Ann Bishop Baggs died on December 4, 1912 according to her headstone's inscription. No certificate of death was reported in 2021 by the State of Kansas. No certificate of death was reported in 2022 by the State of Oklahoma.
BURIAL
She was buried in Argonia, Kansas. Since she died without a Will, a son petitioned for Letters of Administration of her Estate. The Petition reported that she died in Sumner County, Kansas (on a different date than the date inscribed on her headstone). Her son, John, and daughter-in-law, Eva, lived in Oklahoma at the time of the Petition.
