Newspaper Obituary, Knoxville Journal, Knoxville, IA:

Mrs. Mary L. Andrews, wife of Robert R. Andrews, died at the Burlington hospital in Burlington, Iowa, Wednesday morning, September 5, 1923, aged 63 years, 27 days. Death resulted from diabetes.

Mary Louisa, daughter of Peter and Ellen Wood, was born in Eastport, Pa., August 8, 1860, and removed with her parents to Knoxville, Ia., when only a small child. She grew to woman hood in this city and in 1882 on November 23rd was untied in marriage with Robert R. Andrews. They resided in Knoxville until only a few years ago, when they removed to Burlington, which has since been the family home.

To Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Andrews seven children were born, five of whom, with their father, still survive to mourn the death of the wife and mother. The surviving children are Will L. Andrews of Chicago; J.R. and P.M. Andrews of Aurora, Ill; Helen, wife of E.F. Hardlannert, Omaha, Neb.; Loren Andrews, Oxford, Neb.; and Harold of Burlington. Besides the husband and children she leaves one brother, Lawrence Wood, of Ottumwa, Iowa. Her only sister, Ida, wife of J.L. Talley of Omaha, died only a few years ago.

Mrs. Andrews was splendid good woman in every sense of the term; as wife, mother, neighbor and friend, and leaves many acquaintances in this city who will long remember her, besides the friends she has made at the new home.

She had been in poor health for several years. However, she was only confined to her bed about two weeks.

The body was brought to Knoxville Friday morning over the Q railroad and taken direct to Graceland cemetery. The funeral services were held at the cemetery chapel, conducted by Rev. Geo. E. Chapman. Burial beside the remains of her two sons who died several years ago.
