Rene H. Gagne
(November 28, 1938 - October 9, 2011)
Rene H. Gagne, 72, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Franklin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved husband for 50 years of Lorraine (Guilbault) Gagne. Born in Woonsocket, RI on November 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Henry and Beatrice (Aubin) Gagne. He was the brother of the late Annette Barr. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A resident of Bellingham for 47 years, formerly of Woonsocket where he was raised and was a graduate of Woonsocket High School Class of 1956. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving proudly for eight years. He was a communicant of St. Blaise Church and the former Assumption Church where he was a bingo worker. Rene enjoyed bingo, bowling, genealogy, computers and was a member of the Bellingham Elder Service Group, Inc. Rene and Lorraine celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 2, 2011. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, October 13, at 8:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, October 12, from 6 to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Dana-Farber Cancer Center of Milford, 20 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757 would be appreciated.
