Lucille Bruce, age 94, of North Platte, passed away at North Platte Care on Thursday, November 21, 2019.

Lucille was born February 20, 1925, at Mullen, Nebraska, to Lewis and Edna Burr and grew up in the Mullen-Thedford area. She attended Cherry County Country School then Thedford High School. Lucille later went to work for different ranches in the area before getting married.

On June 26, 1947, Lucille married JD Bruce at Thedford. They lived in several Nebraska towns, Wyoming and South Dakota with JD’s job on the Burlington Northern Railroad then settled in Seneca, Nebraska in 1985. Lucille moved into the North Platte Care Center in 2018 and has resided there ever since.

She was a member of Assembly of God Church in Thedford and Mullen and in her free time enjoyed crocheting and doing embroidery.

Lucille is survived by her sons, Norman (Donna) Bruce, of Robinson, Illinois, Ron (Patty) Bruce, of Moorcroft, Wyoming, and Eugene Bruce, of Lincoln; her sister-in-law, Annie Burr, of Security, Colorado; 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; as well as other family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, JD, and their son, Bob Bruce, and daughter, Marie Wade; her parents, Lewis and Edna Burr; sister, Lois Kemp; brothers, Leonard, Willard, Alexander, Alfred, Forrest, Virgil and Vernon; and grandson, Norman David Miles Bruce.
