Austin Lewis died at 5 o'clock this morning at the home of his siter, Mrs Christopher Newman, who lives three miles west of Purdue. He had been sick for a long time and death was caused by a comlication of diseases. Mr Lewis was born in Lafayette fifty years ago and his entire life was spent in this county. He never married. Mr Lewis was a good citizen and had many friends. Besides Mrs Newman he leaes another sister, Mrs Isaac Coffman, of Montmorenci. Rev Harry M Bell will hold services at the house at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon and the burial will be in Greenbush Cemetery. (Lafayette, Indiana, Daily Courier, Tuesday, January 14, 1908, page7)
