Irma's daughter, Roma, married Robert Dent, and adopted 2 children, names unknown at this time. Roma was quite a gal. My mother had visited her on her farm in Kansas, or wherever, when she was quite old. I believe she was in her 70's and driving a tractor and running the farm like a man. She was a 7th Day Adventist. Sometime about 1976 or 1980 she went to Hondurus where she started a school for the native children. She graduated many children that went on to college. That's one of the things my mother knew the full story on that she didn't write down! When Roma got too old and crippled to teach any more, the townspeople or students built her a little home on the property where she lived with a caregiver the rest of her life. I have a few letters from Roma to Mom from Hondurus.Roma had a Seventh-Day Adventist school in a village in Honduras when Hurricane Mitch hit. She communicated regularly with Luella (Ross) Bates before that. Many villages were completely buried in mud.Hurricane Mitch was the most powerful hurricane of the 1998 season.

Irma Ross was my mother's aunt. My mother spent
25-30 years researching her line. She got it all on computer, but wasn't very thorough with her
documentation. She collected her information by
contacts with family and research in libraries,
court houses, etc. What I have is mostly from her records as I have concentrated on researches my father's line.]

Formed October 22 1998 Dissipated Nov 5 1998
Hurricane Mitch
1998 Hurricane Mitch caused such massive and widespread loss that former Honduran President Carlos Roberto Flores claimed that fifty years of progress in the country were reversed. Mitch obliterated about 70% of the crops and an estimated 70–80% of the transportation infrastructure, including nearly all bridges and secondary roads. Across the country, 33,000 houses were destroyed, an additional 50,000 damaged, some 5,000 people killed, 12,000 injured for a total loss estimated at $3 billion USD.[17]
