Clara Ketron Ahrens, 97, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, in a local care center. Visitation is from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. today in Schaetter Funeral Home chapel. Service is at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Ahrens was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Gillespie County, the daughter of John Ketron and Pauline Kirchner Ketron. She married Oscar Ahrens and he preceded her in death. Pallbearers were Mark Eckhardt, Jason Priess, Rudy Ahrens, Derek Kirchner, Daniel Kneese and Charlie Ridley. Honorary pallbearers were Daryl Kirchner, Gerald Kneese and Harold Frisch.
