Stephen Hamilton, 89, of Lake Placid, FL came to Lake Placid in 1979 from Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was an Owner/Operator of a heating and air conditioning company. He was a member of the Optimist Club in Sebring, American Legion post #25, and Disabled American Veterans. He served our country in World War II in the Army and received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star w/Oak Leaf Cluster, and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Bronze Service Stars. He is survived by: wife of eight years Margaret Hamilton; son, Raymond Hamilton; daughter, Terry Murry; sisters, Betty Furka and Erma Lobash; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid.
