Nelson Newton, 59, of Chazy, who was seriously injured early last Tuesday morning when struck by a car on the Chazy-Rouses Point highway,died in the Champlain Valley hospital Saturday morning at 8:45 o'clock.Newton was hit by a car operated by Julius D. Keim of Drummohdyille,P.Q., who told investigating officers that he was blinded by the lights of an approaching automobile and did not see the man walking along the road.
At the hospital Newton's left leg was amputated in an effort to save his life but he failed to rally.
