Graveside services were held at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Tuesday, December 1, 2009, for Dewitt L. Barnett, 67, who passed away November 29.
Mr. Barnett was the son of the late Charles Willard Barnett and the late Dorothy Brown Barnett. He was retired from Fountain Construction, where he was a superintendent. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brian Dewitt Barnett; two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Ladonna Rome Barnett; daughter Kathy A. Barnett of Brandon; granddaughter, Emily Gambill; brothers Richard Barnett of Anderson, South Carolina and Willard Barnett of Monticello; and sisters Gearldene Shiel and Dyan Mead, both of Brookhaven.
