Born Nov. 3, 1925, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Effie Harp Shearer. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene. She was the widow of Ed Calvin Camel.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Baker of Lancaster; three sons, John Camel of Lexington, Lucien Camel of Boyle County and Ernest Camel of Preachersville; two brothers, Bill Shearer of Mitchellsburg and Omer Shearer, Jr. of Stanford; two sisters, Christine Rutledge of Norwood, Ohio, and Marie Whitehouse of Junction City; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
