SPRINGDALE — James Copas, 91, of Springdale, formerly from Kansas City, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, in Springdale. He was born May 16, 1920, in Greeley, Colo., the son of Fred and Myrtle Copas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Snow Copas; one sister, Jeanette Harvey; and brothers-in-law, Fred Harvey, Ross Snow and David Wike.
He retired from KCPL in Kansas City, Mo., in 1982 and was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
He is survived by one son, Larry Copas (Kathy) of Springdale; one daughter, Susan K. Copas of Liberal, Kan.; granddaughter, Jennifer White of Oskaloosa, Kan.; sister, Betty Wike of Statesville, N.C.; sister-in-law, Betty Snow of Kansas City, Mo.; nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Cremation will be by Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale and James' ashes will be scattered alongside his loving wife, Betty.
A very special thanks goes out from the family of James Copas during a very difficult time to Mike and Vicky Cook, his caretakers, the VA Hospital and all involved there, the Circle of Life, Linda Allen from Windcrest and anyone else that we have forgotten to mention at this time.
