Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church, Manitowoc, with the Rev. Paul H. Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Zapfe was born in the Town of Newton Feb. 4, 1900, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ottomar Zapfe. A lifelong Manitowoc County resident, he married Frieda Otto Sept. 3, 1920, and the couple farmed the homestead property 32 years. Mr. Zapfe was a carpenter by trade 33 years. For the past seven years he was health officer for the Town of Newton.
Surviving are his wife, mother, Mrs. Emma Zapfe; a daughter, Mrs. William Rule, of Hancock, Mich.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 2 p.m. Sunday until 11:30 a.m. Monday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
